10 Worst Movie CGI Of 2019

6. Uncanny Valley Rev-9 - Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator: Dark Fate is the latest over-budgeted blockbuster bomb where its colossal budget wasn't really justified by the end product.

Though the opening flashback sequence, which digitally de-ages both Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong, is extremely impressive, most of the movie's action sequences devolve into weightless, blurry, generic video game-y carnage.

The worst scene in this regard is unquestionably the opening truck chase, where Terminator Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) is hunting down Dani (Natalia Reyes) and Grace (Mackenzie Davis).

At one point, Rev-9 climbs out on the hood of his own truck and hurls a metal pole at Grace, yet it's clear that Rev-9 is an almost entirely digital creation: his face in particular looks too plastic and artificial to pass as human - ironic given the plot - and his body movements are clearly keyframe-animated.

When director Tim Miller and writer-producer James Cameron promised that Dark Fate would be back to the more basic efficiency of the first two movies, these physics-impaired, staggeringly ugly action sequences are not what any fan had in mind.
