10 Worst Movie Characters Of 2020 (So Far)

1. Simon Cowell (Himself) - Scoob!

The Wrong Missy Lauren Lapkus
Warner Bros.

The new animated Scooby-Doo reboot Scoob! was incredibly peculiar indeed - not terrible by any means, but certainly whiffing of a project that's languished in development hell for years.

Indeed, Warner Bros. first announced the film back in 2014, perhaps explaining why it features an howlingly past-its-sell-by-date cameo from Simon Cowell, playing a not-so-fictional version of himself of course.

Cowell appears mercifully briefly in the movie as an investor of Mystery Inc., prompting everyone watching to wonder when they actually last thought about the guy.

But worse than Cowell's presence simply being a mouldy throwback to early 2000s pop-culture, his ultra-realistic character design clashes completely with the more cartoonish aesthetic of the gang.

Though Cowell's only in the film for a few minutes at most, no movie character this year has been quite so offputting and inexplicable through sheer presence alone.
