10 Worst Movie Reboots Of The 2010s
2. Put It Back In The Stone - King Arthur (2017)
Guy Ritchie decided to make a film about King Arthur, it sounds like the start of a joke, but it somehow managed to get signed off by the production company.
The film is somewhat of a modern take on King Arthur and its issues lie in modernising the tale, while at the same time being set in an unspecific historical period. The film tries to work on a weird time-period imbalance that doesn’t really serve a greater purpose. Also, Excalibur gave Arthur telekinetic abilities for no real reason other than “a wizard did it”.
Jude Law and Charlie Hunnam starred in the movie but not even the stars could make the film work. It seemed that making King Arthur cool a cool superhero wasn’t really what audiences wanted. While over the top King Arthur visuals could have worked, the whole film landed poorly and it still seems odd that it was made.
There are many King Arthur adaptations, with varying degrees of success, but this is
most definitely the worst one yet.
