When 20th Century Fox first announced their intention to reboot its original Fantastic Four franchise back in 2009, the resounding response was why bother? and though the 2015 offering is adapted more from Marvels modernized Ultimate Fantastic Four than their earlier comics evident by their super-progressive casting of (shock, horror!) a black actor as Johnny Storm the film is still your basic, run of the mill origin story.
