10 Worst Movie Trailers Of The 2010s

This brief look at Battleship is dripping with a lack of originality.

The centrepiece of the film appears to be nothing more than a battle at sea between the US military and an extra-terrestrial threat.

Moreover, the characters and the dialogue carry no dramatic weight whatsoever. Even the likes of Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgård couldn’t transform their lines into anything worthy of merit.

There’s also the obvious comparisons to the Transformers movies. Given how hated said movies are, this aspect of the trailer does nothing to improve Battleship’s appeal. The sound effects and the designs of the alien technology would fit right in with Michael Bay’s infamously terrible series.

It’s hardly surprising, therefore, that Battleship performed poorly at the box office. Unless you’re a fan of loud explosions and bland storylines, there’s nothing enticing about this trailer.
