10 Worst Movies From Otherwise Great Franchises

9. The Godfather Part III - The Godfather Trilogy

Indiana Jones 4
Paramount Pictures

Other Films: The Godfather and The Godfather Part II.

The Godfather is one of the greatest films of all time and the first sequel is fantastic as well. It doesn't necessarily match the original but it certainly comes close and sets a standard for sequels that have rarely, if ever, been matched or broken.

These two movies make for a brilliant story on their own but unfortunately, Francis Ford Coppola and co returned for a belated third instalment in 1990 that didn't muster even a quarter of the strength of the first two movies.

Al Pacino, as you'd expect, is great in it and so is much of the cast (although Sofia Coppola is very weak as Mary Corleone) but other than that this threequel is far too convoluted and unaffecting to leave any sort of impact.
