10 Worst Oscar Winning Actors Ever

9. Cuba Gooding Jr.

Cuba Gooding Jr. is a textbook example of an actor who won a (semi-dubious) Oscar and almost immediately torpedoed his own career with terrible choices.

Following promising early performances in Boyz n the Hood and A Few Good Men, Gooding scooped a Best Supporting Actor for his memorable turn in 1996's Jerry Maguire, after which he instantly stopped caring and took whatever paycheck role was offered his way. "Show me the money", indeed.

Soporific performances in the likes of Pearl Harbour, Rat Race, Snow Dogs, Boat Trip, Daddy Day Camp and Machete Kills were basically enough to have everyone question whether Gooding was even a good actor in the first place.

His effervescent, Oscar-winning performance beat out the far more deserving Edward Norton (Primal Fear) and William H. Macy (Fargo), both of whom are still Oscar-less over 20 years later.

Though it seemed like Gooding's career would enjoy a resurgence in 2016 when he played O.J. Simpson in the Emmy-winning show The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Gooding's performance received mixed reviews, and now he's back to doing little of anything.

It was a waste of an Oscar, basically.
