10 Worst Performances In 2017 Movies (So Far)

7. Charlie Hunnam - King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword

Charlie Hunnam King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword
Warner Bros.

By now, you'd think Hollywood would know that Charlie Hunnam simply isn't destined to be a strong leading man.

He barely registered in Pacific Rim and his performance in Green Street is basically a 90 minute blooper reel, but like Sam Worthington before him, the powers-that-be seem intent on shaping him into the next big thing.

But - again, like Sam Worthington - he'll surely fall off the grid at some point, and historical flop King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword could be the movie that does it.

Hunnam turns in a brooding performance that never once convinces you that this guy is the mighty King Arthur. Instead, he feels like an easily-replaceable Geordie bruiser, someone who's handy in a fight but doesn't possess the underlying nobility, wisdom or shrewdness that a true leader should.

In a way, this performance is representative of Hunnam's entire career; he's not the compelling leader that King Arthur should be, and like most of his other starring roles, he's failed to provide any indication that he deserves a spot at the forefront of a movie poster.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
