10 Worst Performances In 2017 Movies (So Far)

6. Jamie Dornan - Fifty Shades Darker

Charlie Hunnam King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword
Universal

If there was any doubt that the Fifty Shades franchise was just not destined to be good, then the second movie in the series firmly put those doubts to bed.

You'll almost feel sorry for the two leads given the quality of the script that's been sent their way, but they fail to elevate it, choosing to play their characters in as one-dimensional a fashion as they appear on the page.

Dornan brings nothing to Christian Grey except a perpetual gloominess, as though the fact that his character is tortured (at one point, he works out while listening to So Lonely by The Police - get it? Lonely?) is enough to make him interesting.

It's not.

What we're left with is an actor who certainly looks the part, and... well... that's it. He looks the part. Where you might hope for a bit of subversive charm or even a slight twinkle in the character's eye, you'll find a dark, empty void that sucks all the energy and intrigue out of a scene.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
