10 Worst Performances In MCU History (So Far)
1. Ray Winstone - Dreykov
The great Ray Winstone is a man of many talents when it comes to his work on the big screen. Donning an accent even slightly different to the one he calls native sadly just isn't one of them.
This isn't just a case of a poorly executed twang letting the side down, though. From start to finish, Winstone simply didn't seem to fit the part of the leader of the infamous Red Room. Between coming across as anything but intimidating while donning his substantial tache and tracksuit early on, whilst heavily altered via de-ageing technology, and just generally feeling like an East London gangster dumped into the thick of an MCU juggernaut, this always looked destined to be a bit of a tall order for the well-respected star.
More than anything, though, it was the aforementioned failed attempt at keeping up the Russian accent that let whatever reasonably convincing work he managed to bring to this MCU prequel down, with many noting how his frequent slips left them chuckling into their popcorn instead of trembling in their boots.
There's no shame in trying to broaden your horizons and challenge yourself as an artist. It's just a shame that Winstone's stretching of his muscles went down on a global stage in front of a sometimes unforgiving audience.
