10 Worst Performances In MCU History (So Far)

6. Peter Dinklage - Eitri

Dreykov MCU
Marvel Studios

In a film crammed full of rather unexpected appearances, returns, and revelations, one of the few that actually didn't land came in the form of a small-screen titan who'd recently come off arguably the role of a lifetime.

With his performance as Tyrian Lannister throughout the (mostly) compelling run of HBO's Game of Thrones now firmly in the books, the formidable Peter Dinklage was tasked with bringing none other than Eitri to life in Avengers: Infinity War. You know? A giant space dwarf? Because... yeah, this joke landed about as elegantly as Bruce Banner on the Bifrost Bridge.

To make matters worse, The Russo Brothers had Dinklage trot out his Tyrian voice practically note for note (maybe with a few slightly huskier tinges), hinting that this unfortunately hilarious arrival was likely nothing more than an attempt to capitalise on his aforementioned show's unprecedented popularity.

Simply put, Dinklage's work didn't add the sort of gravitas or weight to the moment Thor forged the badass Stormbreaker that Marvel were likely hoping for and instead gave us one of the most jarring debuts the MCU has ever unleashed onto its audience.
