5. Aaron Taylor-Johnson - Quicksilver

Fans may not have seen it coming, but they also weren't lining up to petition for Quicksilver's return either on the back of his unexpected demise in Age of Ultron. And that's likely down to the character being rather poorly executed in his debut alongside his super powered sis.

Likely not exactly benefiting from his burst-of-charisma counterpart bolting across the screen in X-Men: Days of Future Past a year earlier, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's dodgy Russian-accent wielding Pietro Maximoff felt like a paint-by-numbers, wise-cracking supporting hero in his one-and-done showing.

Outside of his aforementioned sacrifice to save a character many had nailed on to bite the dust over the course of the second Avengers outing in Hawkeye, Taylor-Johnson is given very little opportunity to become anywhere near as valuable or cherished a character as his freakishly powerful sibling, Wanda.

Had Barton taken the literal bullet, we may be living in a world where the MCU's Quicksilver has been fleshed out to the point of being one of the cornerstones of the modern day Avengers. However, in this world, Pietro is arguably the second most compelling silver-haired apparent Maximoff to pop up in the MCU, with Evan Peters even taking top spot away from him in his own universe, too. The cheek.
