10 Worst Performances In MCU History (So Far)

3. Rebecca Hall - Maya Hansen

Dreykov MCU
Marvel Studios

In another gross misuse of an undoubted source of acting talent, here's that time Rebecca Hall signed up to be a part of the exciting world of Tony Stark's Iron Man for what would turn out to be the highest grossing entry in that MCU trilogy.

Only, by the time that Shane Black-helmed project eventually blasted onto the scene, it soon became apparent that the outstanding Brit had fallen victim to a script more focused on swerving fans (more on that later) and burning Potts. In the end, Hall's Maya Hansen was reduced to nothing more than a one night stand who wanted to get one back on Stark a solid 13-years on from their one night in Switzerland.

Rather depressingly, Hall's flat performance and lack of any real meat to chew on likely came about due to her role being substantial chopped to pieces in the editing suite. As Hall herself explained, "... I signed on to do something very different to what I ended up doing."

The fact Hansen is killed off as unceremoniously as she ultimately was only serves to highlight how much of an afterthought the character and performance actually was once the studio decided to head in a different direction.
