Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is the sort of movie that goes down in history for all the wrong reasons.

Based on a series of French sci-fi comics, Valerian had everything it needed to succeed: celebrated source material, an exciting space-opera story, and a massive budget, not to mention a number of big names in starring roles.

With Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne in the lead roles, what could possibly go wrong?

Actually, quite a lot.

Now, the movie does have a number of issues, but let's just focus on the fact that its two stars did nothing to prop up this confused mess of a motion picture. Neither DeHaan or Delevingne lived up to their reputation as promising young actors, and the entire movie fell short in nearly every department.

The most difficult part of this entry is choosing which of the two gave the worst performance. It's a little like a parent picking a favourite child: even if you're leaning one way, it simply wouldn't be fair to say it out loud. They're equally awful.
