And just like that, we're onto the entries that have passed into infamy.

Battlefield Earth is well-documented as a steaming pile of human waste. For those who might not know, it's based on the 1982 novel of the same name by L. Ron Hubbard, the sci-fi writer turned cult leader whose works are the basis for Scientological belief.

Ever the loyal Scientologist, John Travolta went above and beyond to see that Battlefield Earth was made, actually contributing several million dollars of his own money to help with production costs.

The result was not good.

There's an awful lot of terrible laughing, terrible accents, and terrible dialogue, and all of it is strung together by Travolta's disturbing, awful performance.

While Travolta is rarely named among the greatest actors of our time, Battlefield Earth proved that he can hold his own among the worst.

Watching Battlefield Earth is like asking to be repeatedly slapped in the face by some of the worst acting you've ever seen.
