10 Worst Rock Music Film Biopics Ever

7. Jersey Boys

When Clint Eastwood directed Jersey Boys in 2014 he must have thought it would be the definitive take on this story for at least a decade. After all, this is Franki Valli and The Four Seasons we’re talking about, not Spider-Man.

However, the wheels are already in motion on a new project starring Nick Jonas as Frankie Valli. That The Four Seasons story is already considered ripe for a remake is a measure of how much the first attempt underwhelmed as it struggled with an uneven tone.

Eastwood’s film was based on the stage musical charting the band’s rise and demise. That show won a Tony for best musical as well as a Grammy and Laurence Olivier Award. It had toured the UK and was revived in the West End last year.

Hollywood once again proved that adapting films from the stage is harder than you’d think. This clunky movie can’t strike the balance between light hearted musical numbers and the serious gangster business with which the band found themselves involved.
