10 Worst Sci-Fi Horror Movies Of All Time

7. Bride Of The Monster

Plan 9 From Outer Space may be Ed Wood's most famous (and most ridiculed) work but it wasn't the failed director's first sci-fi picture. In 1955, Wood attempted to make his own Frankenstein-inspired movie called Bride of the Monster.

Even though this is the only Wood film that turned a profit, it's still as amateur as filmmaking gets. Props fall over mid-scene. Sets visibly shake when actors clumsily bang into them. Bride of the Monster is so rife with continuity errors, you'd swear everything was shot in one take.

Oh, wait. That's exactly what happened. Even when characters are referred to by the wrong name or actors miss their cues, Wood refused to cut and just kept rolling.

The film's most infamous moment is when the evil scientist, played by Bela Lugosi, feeds his victims to his giant octopus. Because the octopus is a rubber dummy, the victim in the scene had to flail around while holding the tentacles to give the impression the creature was killing them. These scenes look so fake (and hilarious), Wood was ashamed how they turned out.
