10 Worst Sci-Fi Horror Movies Of All Time
2. Laserblast
Laserblast follows a teenager named Billy who stumbles upon an alien laser gun and uses it to wreak havoc upon the city. Producer, Charles Band, claimed the entire film was shot over a period of three weekends.
That may sound like a pretty impressive feat... until you watch the movie. First off, there are many scenes where extra-terrestrials speak to each other... without subtitles. Since you have no idea what these stop-motion creatures are talking about, every one of their scenes drags.
But the film has to have some cool laser scenes, right? Yes, but there are so many, you'll be sick of them before the movie is half over. Every time Billy blows up a building or car with his laser gun, it is replayed over and over. By the time you see something explode for the 25th time, you'll just be bored out of your mind.
But guess what? Those are the best parts! Even though the trailer gives the impression Laserblast is filled with crazy battles with extra-terrestrials, most of the scenes are pure filler. The director, Michael Rae, was so devastated by its reception, he didn't direct another movie for 27 years (which was just as terrible.)
