10 Worst Sci-Fi Horror Movies Of All Time

3. Galaxy Of Terror

Galaxy of Terror is one of many trashy space movies that was trying so hard to be the next Star Wars or Alien. The plot centres around a troop of astronauts who venture to a desolate world where an energy force causes them to be attacked by their own subconscious fears. (Oh, yeah. It's a rip-off of Forbidden Planet too.)

Even though visionary director, James Cameron, worked on Galaxy of Terror as second unit and the production designer, not even he was able to stop this film from being a sci-fi snoozefest. One of the biggest problems with the movie is how cheap it looks. The interior of the crew's spaceship is padded with (and I am not kidding), McDonalds takeout cartons! Instead of making the crew's safety belts look futuristic, the filmmakers used regular car seatbelts.

Even when the crew are attacked by aliens, the sound effects are so cartoony, it's unintentionally hilarious. Speaking of moments of unintentional hilarity, one crewmember gets impaled in the arm by a ninja star and reacts to this situation... by punching his own arm off! If you want a laugh, give Galaxy of Terror a look. If you want to experience genuine horror, look elsewhere.
