3. Young Boba Fett
For this entry the focus is on the younger version of an iconic character from the original trilogy. In this case, the main complaint doesn't neccesarily stem from the version of his origins, nor even the performance of the actor who portrayed him. Rather, it's the seeming indifference towards the character and how seemingly redundant he actually was. OK, so, you find out that Boba Fett is actually a clone of the Bounty Hunter Jango Fett. Fine. It is shown that Boba idolised his father and was distraught when Jango was killed by Mace Windu. But after that... what? Fett neither appears in the subsequent film, nor is he likely to return in the upcoming sequels. Fans were shown a very small glimpse of him in what amounted to nothing much more than an overlong cameo. To put not too fine a point on it, his appearance was pointless. If, say, he had appeared as an older version of himself in Revenge Of The Sith, then perhaps laying the ground work of his early years may have had some significance. But all you saw was a small boy who bore no resemblance to his future badass self and who had literally no integral part whatsoever. Now, perhaps he will have a stand alone feature dedicated to him and if that happens, then maybe the brief, vanilla appearance from Episode II will have some significance. Until then, young Boba Fett will sit high on this list.
