10 Worst, Strangest & Most Distracting Film Cameos of 2012

8. Cheryl Cole - What To Expect When You're Expecting

Cheryl Cole You can sometimes see the appeal of having a pop star in your film: whoever it is can boost the profile in the country they originate from (and are thus usually most famous in) and the appearance can also raise the star's own profile when they are trying to "break" America. Having suffered one of the most embarrassing publicity disasters ever when she was sacked from American Idol for being completely unintelligible thanks to her strong Geordie accent, it's not surprising that Cheryl Cole was looking for further opportunities to boost her image Stateside. And surely appearing in a pregnancy comedy alongside Cameron Diaz and J-Lo was a dynamite way to do it. Sadly, Cheryl's ability to sing is only matched by her inability to act, as she ironically failed to convincingly play a talent show judge, and she was just one bad point of a terrible and criminally unfunny comedy.
