10 Worst Superhero Movie Posters

9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

XMen First Class
Paramount Pictures

When it was announced that Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes was going to reboot the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action films for a whole new generation, there was, inevitably, backlash.

Then, it seemed like the more audiences learned about the film the more egregious it grew. There were reports of the film retconning the Turtles into aliens, of Splinter being white-washed, and of the film focusing more on Megan Fox's April O'Neil than the title characters themselves, none of which sat well with fans.

Which is what makes this poster all the stranger. The poster for the film would have been a great place to start earning back fans and building positive buzz for the film, but instead, audiences were treated to this. It's a poster that looks less like an official movie poster and more like the Turtles all went to a JCPenny photoshoot for their upcoming mixtape.

It debuted the less-than-beloved designs of the new CGI turtles alongside the first trailer and the studio seemingly thought that just throwing them up on the one-sheet would be more than enough to form an effective poster. They could not have been more wrong.
