10 Worst Superhero Movie Posters

7. Avengers: Age Of Ultron

XMen First Class
Marvel Studios

Credit where credit is due, Marvel tried to go outside of the box here, straying away from their general Star Wars-aesthetic-aping approach. But when the end result of what they went for is this bad, perhaps they should have just stuck to what they knew.

The poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron is a complete mess to look at. It suffers from an acute case of attempting to just cram every character onto the poster. Hell, even late-in-the-game addition Vision, who wasn't even fully featured in the trailers makes an appearance on this poster. It doesn't help that the poster's primary color scheme seems to be grey and desaturated, resulting in all of the hero's colors being muted.

From a design perspective, this was never going to work. But with the rudimentary photoshop used to very obviously cut and paste elements into the image, it's a trainwreck. Robert Downy Jr.'s face looks like it's on a completely different planet than his suit, Hulk is backlit in a harsher fashion than anyone else, and Jeremy Renner appears to have some uncanny valley-levels of digital touch-ups going on with his face.
