10 Worst Superhero Movie Posters

4. Green Lantern

XMen First Class
Warner Bros.

Looking back now, it seems like every part of the advertising for 2011's Green Lantern was a trainwreck in its own unique and special way.

From the much-maligned CGI suit reveal to the initial trailers that teased Reynold's trademark mixture of Tony Stark meets Van Wilder, it all just felt off. And nothing illustrated that quite as well as this poster. The only real thing in the entire image is Reynold's face, and everything else is some of the most painfully dull CGI ever made.

The backdrop is a generic CGI alien-city backdrop that is so far away that the digital artists could easily fudge the details, resulting in a much murkier image. The Lanterns' suits all look woefully underdeveloped and just about everything looks as if it has been overexposed, with the white lighting washing everything else out.

Not to mention the giant laser shooting into the sky in the middle of the backdrop which, even in 2011, was already a cliche. This poster shows zero amount of originality and is instead simply copying whatever the studio thinks audiences will want to see, much like Green Lantern itself.
