10 Worst Superhero Movie Posters
2. Suicide Squad
All of the posters on this list are eye-sores. But none are quite as disorienting or nauseating as this one for Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad's advertising took a hard left turn about six months before release, as DC panicked and decided to reshoot the film to make it more like the Bohemian Rhapsody-scored trailer. Suddenly the metallic colors and dark lighting of the early marketing was ditched in favor of going full blown neon hellscape.
The end result is this one-sheet, which looks like a circa-2007 Hot Topic-sponsored club wasn't cleaned for years and then spontaneously exploded. All of the actors are laughably composited into the image, with half of them being literal cropped screengrabs from actual frames of the movie itself rather than anything made specifically for marketing.
At the time, amidst DC's more dour releases, the idea of a colorful DC film might have seemed exciting. But simply chucking every color imaginable into the poster makes it look more like Crayola-tinged vomit than it does like an exciting aesthetic choice.
