10 Worst Superhero Movies According To Rotten Tomatoes

4. Fantastic Four

Supergirl Helen Slater
20th Century Studios

The first two Fantastic Four movies were cheesy disappointments, and while fans weren't overly excited by the news that Josh Trank was going to deliver a darker take on Marvel's First Family in 2015, no one could fault the Chronicle director for trying to do something new with the characters.

Unfortunately, behind the scenes issues plagued the reboot, and it's still not clear what went wrong. The most likely explanation is that Trank's vision clashed with the studio's, hence why Simon Kinberg ultimately took charge of disastrous reshoots which changed half the movie and made it feel like two entirely separate projects that had been mashed together.

As the Critics Consensus explains, "Dull and downbeat, this Fantastic Four proves a woefully misguided attempt to translate a classic comic series without the humor, joy, or colorful thrills that made it great." It's hardly a surprise that it received 9%, and this is no doubt a superhero movie which will be discussed for years to come, as will whether it was Trank or the studio most at fault.

Whatever the case may be, this movie sucked, and has little in the way of redeeming qualities.
