10 Worst Superhero Movies According To Rotten Tomatoes
2. Zoom
It may not be based on a Marvel or DC Comics franchise, but Zoom was supposed to deliver an original take on superheroes back in 2006. Starring actors who, even then, were bordering on "has-been" status, Tim Allen, Courteney Cox, Chevy Chase, Spencer Breslin, and Rip Torn weren't exactly on top form in a movie that scores a well-deserved 4%.
"Lacking the punch and good cheer of The Incredibles and Sky High, Zoom is a dull and laugh-free affair," the Critics Consensus says, pulling no punches.
Following the former Captain Zoom (Allen) as he gets back into the superhero game upon taking a job at a private academy, he's tasked with whipping into shape a ragtag group of heroes-in-training. What followed was a blatant rip-off of everything from Fantastic Four to the aforementioned Incredibles, but the lack of original ideas was far from Zoom's only problems.
This attempt to cash in on the superhero movie craze came far too soon, but would be doubly hated by today's standards (and probably flop twice as badly). Studios are better sticking to the established characters, because attempts like this one are clearly a mistake.
