10 Worst Superhero Movies Of The 2010s
6. Green Lantern (2011)
This was DCs first attempt at building a cinematic universe. This film however was less of an Iron Man success and more of a 2017 Mummy failure.
Green Lantern follows the tale of hot-shot pilot Hal Jordan on his quest to become a member of the Green Lantern Corps fighting the evil space cloud known as Parallax. And notice how films with superheroes fighting space clouds seem to fail? That’s not a coincidence. So to try and fill in the disappointment of the cloud this film has Hector Hammond who is once again another rich guy with a revenge agenda.
Ryan Reynolds certainly does his best with what he’s given, but when almost everyone he’s acting opposite is rendered by a computer, there’s not much for him to work with. Evening the famous green suit wasn’t real, it was plastered on as yet another CG addition! I mean, come on DC. You’ve got enough green-screen going on. You could have used some of it for a convincing suit!
Reynolds himself has blacklisted the film from his CV and would gladly walk out of interviews when asked about it. He thankfully redeemed his superhero credentials with Deadpool (the second attempt at least) and he can put this poorly rendered mess behind him.
