10 Worst Threequels Of All Time

2. Blade: Trinity

New Line Cinema

Whilst the first two Blade movies were hardly high art, they were a fairly enjoyable romp and Guilhermo del Toro's work on the second one was particularly enjoyable. David S Goyer is on directing duties, which seemed like a sensible decision and with Dracula as the bad guy, it seemed reasonable to expect a fun time watching the third Blade movie.

Oh how wrong we were. Goyer's direction is completely inept and his script is easily one of the worst ever written, in particular its dialogue which is unintentionally hilarious. Dracula is played by Dominic Purcell of Prison Break fame and instead of playing him as an intense creep, he looks like a Jersey Shore reject. The decision to bring Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel into the series also proved catastrophic as Wesley Snipes was essentially relegated to supporting character behind the two Nightstalkers.

Goyer's treatment of Blade in the movie is just awful, Blade is the titular character and hero, yet he's treated as a measly stepping stone. Even the action scenes are garbage, with no style or ingenuity. The failure of the movie and Snipes' prison sentence essentially means the franchise has been thrown to the scrap heap, at least for the foreseeable future.
