10 Worst Times A Movie Character Returned From The Dead
7. Neo And Trinity - The Matrix Resurrections
Neo is Jesus. Well, he is at the very least an allegory for him.
He is a foretold saviour of mankind, literally nicknamed "The One". He also sacrifices himself to save humanity, fusing with Agent Smith and destroying himself in both The Matrix and the real world.
Also, he's played by Keanu Reeves, who most people would believe was the Son of God if he said so.
It makes sense then that, after his death at the end of The Matrix Revolutions, he would be back for the fourth instalment of the franchise. That, and the film is literally called "The Matrix Resurrections".
Clue's in the name, people.
It turns out that a machine called The Analyst, who takes the form of Neo's therapist and is played by Neil Patrick Harris, reconstructed Neo's body after his demise. He also did the same for his lover Trinity, who was impaled on metal rods in the third film.
It's never really explained how he did this, just that he needs the two of them to be together to generate the most power.
It's a lazy explaination, one that is not befitting of one of the ultimate action movie power couples.
