6. Glenn Close Is Barely In The Film (Guardians Of The Galaxy)
Glenn Closes casting is a testament to how far Marvel has come. When they first started, they had to sell themselves to redemption cases and up-and-comers, not even six years later, and massive movie stars are coming to them, asking for roles. Close immediately helped raise the pedigree of the little-known property and fans were excited to see such a respected actress play something are far-fetched as an alien military commander. And while she clearly had fun on set, it was a shame we got so little of her. Evidently, when the role of Nova Prime was being written, James Gunn was not expecting someone as big as Close getting involved. But she was, and thus expectations were disproportionate for what we were getting. She featured very minimally in the film and the scenes she did partake in were mostly expository with little-to-no emotion or characterization. Hopefully the sequel embraces her casting and doesnt waste this opportunity again.
