10 WTF Animal Horror Movies You Won't Believe Exist

1. Night Of The Lepus

Ghost Shark Title
MGM

After an experiment intended to curb rabbit reproduction goes wrong, a small Arizona town is overrun by a horde of supersized rabbits who for some reason have ditched their usual vegetarian diet in favour of human flesh.

What this translates to onscreen is a load of regular sized fluffy bunnies running amok on miniature-sized sets with ketchup blood smeared on their chops equipped with dubbed-in lion roars or the occasional human actor dressed in a rabbit costume for close-up bunny attack scenes. Which is about as frightening as you’d expect.

And that’s Night of the Lepus’ ridiculous, unintentionally hilarious premise in a nutshell but the most unbelievable part of the movie (beyond how it even got made) is that its makers somehow convinced Psycho leading lady Janet Leigh to star.

To her credit Leigh later recognised that it was impossible to make bunny rabbits look menacing and you know what? She isn’t wrong.
