10 WTF Animal Horror Movies You Won't Believe Exist
2. Slugs: The Movie
The humble garden slug is promoted to fear-worthy, carnivorous
killer of men by way of toxic waste spill as they ravage the residents of a
small, rural town in the appropriately titled and badly dubbed ‘80s horror
Slugs: The Movie.
There’s probably an important environmental message to be learned from the movie, but really it’s all about watching people die at the hands of slugs which seems unlikely until you factor in that these mutant molluscs are equipped not only with rather sharp teeth but also toxic, paralysing slime trails and parasitic worms too.
Luckily a local health inspector who just happens to know a British slug expert (don’t we all?) is on hand to save the day but not before we’re treated to some ridiculous mollusc-related murders. That includes - but is by no means limited to - a horny young couple whose post-coital bliss is interrupted when they’re devoured by a cornucopia of flesh-hungry slugs and a man who eats a slug infested salad and has parasitic worms eat their way out of his eyeballs.
