10 WTF Animal Horror Movies You Won't Believe Exist
3. Ticks
Unless you’re unlucky enough to be bitten by a Lyme disease
carrying tick, the parasitic little blighters aren’t usually that much of a
threat. Except if you’re a character in 1993 direct-to-video horror Ticks, that
is.
Starring a young Seth Green and Alfonso Ribeiro (aka Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), the movie follows a group of wayward inner-city teens as they go on a camping trip to become one with nature and do character building exercises or whatever the hell happens when juvenile delinquents are shipped off to the woods.
And get closer to nature they certainly do when an epidemic of abnormally large and bloodthirsty ticks start attacking them left, right and centre. Like Leeches! steroids are to blame for the mutant bugs but by way of an accidental growth serum leakage at a local marijuana grow op overseen by a couple of ne'er-do-well rednecks rather than a group of speedo-wearing swim team stars.
