Creepiness Rating: 10/10 Sean Penn is often regarded as one of the most talented actors in Hollywood, with movies like Mystic River and 21 Grams under his belt. Yet most people seem to have forgotten about some of the charges that have been levelled against the man: charges that, had they been attached to somebody else, would have presumably ended their career. Just ask Madonna. So where to start with this madness? In one notable incident back in 1987, Penn hit Madonna over the head with a baseball bat. Seriously: an actual baseball bat. For some reason, she decided not to press charges. A year later, the actor allegedly tied his wife to a chair for nine-hours and beat her up - an unbelievable act that only ended when Madonna managed to escape and ran to the nearest police station. The pair divorced a year later. All that stuff sounds crazy, right? And yet, somehow, it's apparently all true. Penn is still allowed to work in Hollywood, and has - unbelievably - managed to attract strong feminists as wives and girlfriends over the years: Robin Wright, Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron, to name but three. How - or why - would they associate themselves with someone with a history of abusive behaviour to such a high degree?
