7. Apple Product Placement - Blade: Trinity
Blade: Trinity was a Godawful mess of a film, but one thing stood out as being particularly painful to watch, and that was David S. Goyer's desperate attempt to make Blade appeal to a younger market, by way of wittier, cooler, better-looking characters, one of whom uses a freaking iPod in the middle of battle. Aside from Abigail Whisler's (Jessica Biel) technique being mind-wrenchingly stupid from a safety perspective, the obtrusive close-ups of Apple wares overpower every scene they're in, be it as above, where Abi is loading up a playlist, or when she's researching things on an Apple monitor, and so on. The first two Blade movies weren't perfect, but they were a lot of fun. The third, however, was a crass corporate exercise, one calculated to make as much money as possible, yet as deserved, it ironically posted the lowest box office figures of the three films.
