8. "Do You Know What Happens To A Toad When It's Struck By Lightning?" - X-Men
Joss Whedon may be one of the most talented screenwriters in Hollywood today, but that didn't stop him from coming up with this horrendous zinger that was drudged from his rejected X-Men script. The scene has Storm facing off against Toad, and declaring, "You know what happens when a toad gets struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else." The problem isn't just with Berry's dreadful delivery, but the pacing of the whole scene. It would be more amusing if Storm electrocuted Toad in-between the two sentences to give it a dynamic payoff with comic timing, rather than the blandness of Berry just delivering the line before catapulting Toad. With a minor change, this could have been much funnier than it was...
