10 X-Men Characters Who Look Nothing Like The Movies

1. Deadpool - X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Right out the gate, let's put it all to rest and say that one of the absolute best depictions of a superhero in a live-action movie has been Deadpool. Of course, that's the character from the more recent films, Deadpool and its sequel. The one who came before was Deadpool in name only.

Actually, the character wasn't even called Deadpool, but he was called Wade Wilson at the beginning of the film, so it definitely was Deadpool, though he did receive some tweaks to his origin story and iconic look. For one thing, he wasn't wearing a costume, so that alone is problematic.

Instead, he was covered in strange black lines with circles on the ends, which had something to do with the procedure that gave him superpowers he doesn't have in the comics. These included an optic blast like Cyclops, the ability to teleport like Nightcrawler, and he had swords that came out of his hands.

While all of that could be forgiven... well, perhaps not, but those changes weren't even the worst part about Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The worst thing they did to the character was that they sewed up his mouth and covered it with skin. The Merc with a Mouth wasn't able to talk, and that was absolutely unforgivable.

Fortunately, Ryan Reynolds got another shot at playing Deadpool, and he absolutely killed it. He even scored some time-travel tech in Deadpool 2 and killed off this horrible representation in the after-credits.
