As one of the newest villains on this list, Cassandra Nova has earned her place for both an outlandish origin story and the desperate lengths she will go to in order to destroy Xavier's dream. Cassandra Nova started out as a parasitic life form who created a body for herself using Charles Xavier's DNA, effectively becoming his twin sister. She grew within the womb alongside Xavier until he sensed Nova's evil thoughts and turned on her; that's right, Xavier was fighting evil mutants as a fetus. Surprisingly, things get even stranger than that... Nova somehow survived her womb assault and grew to become the ideological opposite of Charles Xavier, destroying the entire mutant population of Genosha - 16 million - in one fell swoop. If Onslaught represents Xavier's temptations, Nova is the blackened soul Xavier could have become if he had ever given in to his feelings of rage and resentment. Now that the sentinels have been introduced in the cinematic universe, Nova's massacre of Genosha could be one of the definitive X-Men moments on the big screen. Of course, efforts would need to be made to introduce the concept of Genosha first and just like Onslaught, Nova's origin may need tweaking for mainstream audiences, but the potential for this character is huge. And who doesn't get freaked out by a wrinkly old bald woman?
