10 X-Men Who Should Be Introduced Into The MCU As "Villains"

Professor Xavier as a villain? He and a few X-Men could easily make debuts as "bad guys" in the MCU.

Did The Snap cause a universe-wide mutation or have mutants lived among the MCU the entire time? Hopefully, we won't need to wait much longer to find out. Mutants will arrive on screen in some form or fashion but we still have no indication of how or when they'll appear. The biggest question though, is why?

What will happen in the MCU that will bring the X-Men into the mix? Time will tell. However, just because the characters we know and love are ready to make a grand introduction, who says that they need to arrive on the scene as heroes?

With Rogue rumored to debut in Captain Marvel 2 as an antagonist, one has to wonder which other X-Men may enter the fray on the opposing side. The current Avengers lineup needs new secondary foes to tackle as Marvel introduces the next big bad and there are a handful of X-Men members that fit the bill.

Even if the X-Men already exist within the MCU, who says a few fan favorites should be automatically accepted into Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters? Instead of reserving the spotlight for classic villains like Magneto, the MCU has an opportunity to showcase certain X-Men as "villains" before they inevitably lend their powers to the side of good.

From Gambit to the Morlocks, let's look at 10 X-Men members who should debut in the MCU as antagonists to the Avengers or X-Men.

10. The New Mutants

If and when The New Mutants is released in theaters (or direct to streaming), we'll finally know the true answer to an important question — is The New Mutants the final Fox X-Men film or is it the first X-Men film in the MCU?

D23 seemingly confirmed that this film was indeed bringing mutants into the MCU. Disney later walked back that statement and claimed that, due to reshoot difficulties, the original film will screen with no ties to the MCU.

If it's Fox's final bow, then fans can at least be thankful this film will see the light of day. However, if a post-credits scene in The New Mutants ties to the MCU, then this group of adolescents is already primed for villainy.

Their origins shown in the trailers seemingly place them on the wrong side of the law. Assuming that they escape their captor — or worse, discover that the facility is government-run — they are certain to get on the Avenger's or X-Men's radar as potential threats.

Although there are reportedly no changes to the film itself, there is still a chance that they filmed a new post-credits scene that will tag onto an upcoming MCU film scheduled to be released and connect The New Mutants to the MCU.
