100 Greatest Comic Book Movies Of All Time

93. Green Lantern: Emerald Knights

Green Lantern Emerald Knights
Warner Bros.

There have actually been quite a few genuinely great Green Lantern features, but the only one that’ll make you forget about Martin Campbell’s horrendous live action film is Emerald Knights, which released the same year.

Featuring the talents of Nathan Fillion, Jason Isaacs and Kelly Hu, Emerald Knights is an anthology series that details five unique stories about the Green Lantern Corps. It’s exposition-heavy in places, but no feature serves as a better introduction to that world than Emerald Knights, with two of its stories taken from Alan Moore’s stint on the GL comic.

92. Wonder Woman (2009)

Wonder Woman (2009)
Warner Bros.

Before Gal Gadot graced the big screen as Princess Diana in 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman had to settle for the small screen. Susan Eisenberg portrayed the character brilliantly in the Justice League animated series, but once that show wrapped up - and Warner Bros. turned their attention to straight-to-video animated movies - Kerri Russell assumed the role in 2009’s Wonder Woman movie, scripted by Gail Simone and Michael Jelenic.

An origin story that featured Nathan Fillion in the role of Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman is one of the superior DC animated productions and serves as a fantastic introduction to the character, their mythos, and to the wider DC Universe too.

91. Justice League: Doom

Justice League Doom
Warner Bros.

Oh, look, another animated film is it? Another entry written by Ewan is it? Well, yes! And no, this isn’t because I forgot about all the good DC animated features and so they ended up getting stuck in one big block at the bottom of everything. Why would you say that? God.

Anyway, Justice League: Doom is a genuinely great film. Based on the Tower of Babel storyline from the comics, where Batman’s strategies for taking down the League are exposed and used against them, Doom works as both a standalone film and as a great book-end to the DCAU, with Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly and Susan Eisenberg reprising their roles as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman respectively.
