100 Greatest Comic Book Movies Of All Time

96. The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk
Marvel Studios

The CG-fuelled approach to the character we all thought we wanted back when Ang Lee's contemplative version dropped in 2003, The Incredible Hulk is "Hulk SMASH" stretched into an entire film.

Characters, arcs, settings, drive, motivation - all barely matter, existing only to facilitate Banner vs Emil Blonsky's Abomination at a handful of points.

Speaking of Bruce, Ed Norton's take on the character plays up the nervousness at the heart of his relationship to Hulk, though this does tank every scene with Liv Tyler, as the pair have less than negative chemistry.

Seriously, it's like two actors who once dated turned up years later, were given the script and told whatever take they were on was being used. It is AWFUL, every single time.

95. Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero

Batman Mr Freeze Subzero
Warner Bros.

Batman: The Animated Series is the definitive depiction of the Dark Knight outside of his own comics, and though SubZero isn’t one of the best stories to have emerged from it, it’s an enjoyable feature and spotlights the second best villain to appear on the show - Mr. Freeze.

94. Teen Titans Go! To The Movies

Teen Titans Go To The Movies
Warner Bros.

Honestly, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is brilliant. It’s both a love-letter to the DC Universe and a fantastic commentary on comic book movies, told from the perspective of the characters from the 2003 Teen Titans cartoon.

It’s a cult classic in the making, and though comics fans have been reluctant to return to Titans after its switch to the Go! format, if anything can convince them to do so, it’ll be this film.
