11 Actors Who Must Play Marvel Movie Heroes Before 2028

10. Terry Crews - Luke Cage

Luke Cage Terry Crews Though Marvel are developing a Luke Cage Netflix TV show, filming has not yet started and we haven't had an official announcement on who will be playing the super-strong escaped prisoner who becomes a superhero for hire. But there has been significant noise about the possibility of hulking actor and former NFL player Terry Crews taking the role. Back in September Crews actually withdrew himself from the casting race, but only because the show hadn't even been greenlit when the rumours began to appear, and he has since expressed his interest in the role. Crews' appropriateness for the role isn't merely down to his looking suspiciously like how Cage is now drawn in the comics, nor his physique, though both would be big selling points in the casting. He's also capable of immense presence on screen, and sells the fury that would be a key part of the characterisation well, even if he is probably too old for the Netflix show-makers' vision of how Cage should appear. Casting older for Cage wouldn't be a mistake, particularly when it opens up the possibility of Crews getting the call, because Marvel should be considering the character as a potential future leader of the New Avengers.
