9. Yvonne Strahovski - Ms Marvel
As far back as three years ago, a fan-site for the Chuck and Dexter star claimed to have nailed-on insider knowledge that she was already confirmed to be playing Carol Danvers/Ms Marvel in the Avengers universe, and though that turned out to be no more than wishful thinking, the rumour is an intriguing one. Clearly, Strahovski has the look for the character, and her work on Chuck makes her an easy pick, particularly as she'll be able to cope with the physical demands of the role. The character is extremely highly-powered, and though she did suffer a period of relative obscurity, her reinvigoration as a key member of the Avengers makes her a strong pick to bring more gender balance to the superhero ensemble. To realize those powers might well be expensive, but Strahovski has proven since the end of Chuck that she has the acting ability to add texture and depth to the performance even if Marvel go with a stripped back version of Ms Marvel.
