11 Actors Who Should Take Over Indiana Jones
1. Idris Elba
For years, Idris Elba has not gotten his due.
He is far and away one of the most talented actors of his time and yet he is regularly mitigated to supporting roles or lead roles in tremendously underwhelming features. His latest headlining role in a blockbuster feature was that of The Dark Tower, which featured great work from the veteran actor, even as the film around him quite literally fell apart.
Elba has been a fan-favorite pick to play James Bond forever now but between Craig's indecisive nature and that franchise's own struggles, it's looking less and less likely. Which is a shame, because he'd be absolutely perfect for the role. So instead of playing Bond, why not allow Elba to settle just like Spielberg once did?
Having Elba take over the role would be a thrilling change and a great chance to see him in a starring role. He would be more-than-capable of pulling off every part of the performance with his own uniquely rogueish charm, his dramatic acting chops, and his love of stuntwork and action sequences.
If anyone truly deserves to take over the role of Indiana Jones, it has to be Idris.
