11 Avengers: Endgame Moments That Will Mean Something In MCU Phase 4
3. Loki The Time Trickster
With Loki getting a pre-snap death at the hands of Thanos in Infinity War, it seemed likely that his role in Endgame wouldn't amount to anything more than a quick fan service cameo via time travel shenanigans.
And while that's mostly true, his appearance in 2012's Battle of New York also concludes with him escaping with the Tesseract, effectively allowing the trickster to live on in an alternate timeline.
It's since been suspected that this timeline will serve as the basis for Loki's Disney+ TV show, which seems to be supported by reports last year that the show will focus on Loki as he "pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events."
With his shape-shifting abilities and proclivity towards playful villainy, this sounds like a perfect tangent for the character, while crucially not backpedalling on his death in the mainline MCU.
