11 Avengers: Endgame Moments That Will Mean Something In MCU Phase 4

2. The A-Force

One of the most memorable and controversial images in Endgame saw the overwhelming majority of the MCU's surviving female superheroes appearing together in an epic hero shot as they attempted to transport the Infinity Gauntlet across the battlefield.

Whether you found the shot empowering or patronising, it was accepted by many fans to be a direct reference to the A-Force, the first all-female Avengers team, which has counted the likes of Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Rescue, She-Hulk and Jessica Jones among its number in the comics.

With Captain Marvel's billion-dollar success finally proving to sexists everywhere that woman-fronted superhero movies can be enormously successful, it'd honestly be bizarre if Kevin Feige wasn't already making early arrangements for an A-Force film.

Way back during the press tour for Thor: Ragnarok, Tessa Thompson stated that she floated the idea to Feige, and while some might see an all-female superhero scenario as a tad contrived, there's certainly a huge market for it.
