11 Avengers: Endgame Moments That Will Mean Something In MCU Phase 4

With Endgame introducing the MCU's most powerful superhero to the Avengers, it immediately invites fans to inquire about Captain Marvel's (Brie Larson) absence every time something horrible happens in a future solo MCU movie.

But Endgame attempts to hang a lampshade on this issue early on by stating that Carol Danvers has got a whole universe to police and save, and Earth is just a tiny piece of that puzzle - and one that has its own force of superheroes.

Captain Marvel shows up to provide crucial assistance during the final battle, but she surprisingly enough doesn't deliver the killing blow as many expected, supporting the thematic that Endgame was always about the O.G. Avengers first and foremost.

The new Far From Home trailer further hammers home that Captain Marvel seems primed to be a part-time Avenger for the foreseeable future, with Peter asking about her whereabouts and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) simply deeming her "unavailable."

Given the vastness of the universe - or even the Multiverse now - fans should expect this to be the go-to out for Captain Marvel's absence. Rather than being an all-powerful silver bullet, she's sure to be used extremely sparingly outside of her own movies.
