The Film: Tim Burtons Batman 3 Though hes probably not short of geeky fan-love thanks to his role in the Star Wars franchise, Billy Dee Williams could have doubled down thanks to his initially planned expanded role in Tim Burtons Batman trilogy. Burton had initially planned to have a third film follow on directly from Batman Returns, in the same style, but Warner Bros lost confidence in his darker vision and moved his sideways into a creative consultancy role. That came at the cost of Burtons Two-Face storyline, which would have seen Williams Harvey Dent graduate into the villain, and the themes of Burtons first two films wrapped more tightly up. Sadly though, Warner Bros brought in Schumacher, stopped him from making his dark adaptation and turned the franchise into a toy shop window.
