6. The Opening Heist - Baby Driver

Edgar Wright wastes absolutely no time with the stunning intro to his sizzling heist thriller, as Baby (Ansel Elgort) waits outside a bank for Doc's (Kevin Spacey) crew to complete their heist, rocking out to Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's "Bellbottoms" in the meantime.

Once the thieves bundle into the car, Baby slickly speeds away from the scene of the crime, completely out-classing the cops with his mesmerising skills behind the wheel. Most ingeniously, Baby loses the cops by blending in with two other similar-looking vehicles in an underpass, before switching cars in a parking garage and speeding off undetected.

The editing, Wright's terrific direction and the electrifying soundtrack all collaborate to make this a deliriously entertaining chase sequence, and though it can certainly be argued that the action never quite reaches this awe-inspiring peak again, it still sets the mood perfectly for what's to come.
